Our Will writing and executorship service is designed to complement the additional facets of our financial planning and taxation services. There are clear benefits in allowing each of these aspects to be catered for under one roof as it enhances our efficiency in attending to your affairs as a result of having more relevant information readily available.

We also offer a very cost effective, efficient and compassionate service. These are attributes which are usually taken for granted with any professional executorship yet, sadly, in far too many instances are not borne out by fact. It is the nearest and dearest who suffer at a time when they should not.

Looking at the issue of executorship charges, many professional organisations levy fees as a percentage of the value of the estate as well as for the amount of work involved. These executorship charges may not be disclosed when Wills are drawn-up. Whilst cost should not be the only reason for review, it is an important consideration and some scales are excessive

We appreciate that there are many professional firms offering Will drafting services who may be approached but we are surprised at how many clients have not made arrangements because they perceive that the cost is prohibitive. For example, our own enquiries locally have found that the cost can be as much as £225 for a couple making Wills or £125 for an individual one (plus VAT). Certainly, the work involved suggests that this is not an unfair price but we are currently offering discounted terms on our own standard charge until further notice because we consider it vitally important for everyone to have a valid Will in place. For a meeting or telephone appointment, preparation of a basic Will or Wills and an offer to store the finalised Wills indefinitely (without further charge), we are pleased to offer our services £100 for single Wills and £150 for mirror Wills which otherwise is payable.

Risk Warning - Stockmarket investments can offer income through the payment of dividends and interest and good opportunities for capital appreciation over the longer term. By this, generally we mean periods in excess of five years, preferably much longer. However, we can never promise you particular returns, especially in the short-term. At any point in time but especially in the short term, your capital could be worth less than the original amount invested as some of the selected holdings may fall in value, regardless of expectations at the time of acquisition. We may also invest in funds that hold overseas securities. The value of these investments may increase or decrease as a result of changes in currency exchange rates. Returns achieved in the past cannot be relied upon to be repeated.Your home may be at risk if you fail to maintain your mortgage interest and capital repayments or those of any loans secured upon it.
