Record High Dividend Income

Dividends are a form of income generally paid from the profits a company makes. Dividends paid to holders of UK shares jumped to a record high in the first three months of the year, rising 15.7% to £19.7 billion.

Regular dividends have risen every year since the aftermath of the global financial crisis in 2009. Between that year and 2018, total dividends paid to shareholders grew by 85%.

Research from Link Asset Services forecasts investors are on track for £104.1 billion in pay-outs in 2019, beating the all-time high of £99.8 billion paid by companies last year.

At Philip J Milton & Company Plc, we manage a range of investment strategies which can provide a healthy level of income in the form of dividends (or be reinvested for additional capital growth possibilities). We also offer a share dealing service on an “execution only” basis, where by shares are traded on instruction from the consumer.

If you are considering stock market investments and are looking to achieve higher returns compared to cash accounts, please contact the office and speak to one of our highly qualified Advisers who would be only too happy to discuss your options, with the initial meeting provided at our cost.

The value of stockmarket investments and any income from them may fall as well as rise and investors may not get back the amount originally invested. Yield figures may vary and are not guaranteed. It is advisable to hold these investments for a minimum of five to ten years, over which periods stockmarket returns have shown themselves to be historically superior and broadly predictable through both good and bad times. Past performance should not be seen as an indication of future performance.
